Historic, muddy & great fun!
Lindley & the team leave no stone unturned to deliver a good value ultramarathon spanning some of Essex's finest trails. Well stocked checkpoints and happy & smiling volunteers, at each one, make this a race to try!

Really enjoyed the run, and everyone there was so positive and supportive. I found the navigation one of the hardest parts, as without a watch for navigation the course would be near impossible, and even with it, I found myself uncertain at times on which side to run so had few diversions. Overall though, in good conditions I could see this being an amazing, more beginner friendly race, and with rough conditions being a great challenge for any who want to give it a shot!!

Great event, very tough route and thick mud underfoot. Much harder than the distance is. Great checkpoints, and fantastic team of people running in, they made the difference!

Excellent organisation and incredible value for money
Super well organised race along a lovely mostly countryside route. You have to be relatively self sufficient for navigation, but with a smart watch that can take a GPX file that’s not really a problem. Highly recommend.

Great organisation. Lovely trail course. Friendly atmosphere. Marshals were great!
Would recommend downloading the GPX route file onto your running device, as will be needed for some sections. You are likely to get muddy!

First time doing this event and it was everything I hoped it would be. Superb organisation, mud, friendly aid stations, mud, impromptu cuppa at the last stations that got me to the end, more mud and finally the disco lights guiding us home in the dark along the sea wall. Thank you to everyone at Challenge Running and especially the volunteers on the day. P.s. still finding mud between my toes!!
