Brilliantly friendly, achievable event
Great events company.
Brilliant volunteers.
Well stocked and plentiful aid stations.
Great value for money.

Love this event!
2025 was my 6th time running this event. I love it... navigation is easy (almost none!), its flat, scenery is lovely, well placed aid stations, variation in ground. Its also pretty much a marathon, so is a great entry level ultra for beginners. Organisation is always very good, with great signage and an indoor start/finish with bar to look forward to! The showers could do with being ripped out!

Amazing
Race was great, organisers and volunteers were brilliant. Everyone at the check points were so positive, encouraging and helpful. First ever trail event, first ever ultra marathon, loved it. Thank you

Fantastic entry level event for beginners. Really friendly and well organised.

Wonderful Marshalls, good entry level ultra
Fantastic support, stations filled with lots of food. Would be nice to have more at the finish line. Quick course, thin trail. Met some lovely folk along the way. Great to be able to finish at a warm clubhouse

Great event, good first Ultra for anyone.
Beautiful scenery, pretty flat means you can get a good time if the weather has been nice or perfect for anyone not ventured into the Ultra world yet.
Top work form all the helpers as well, attended to our every needs.
Thanks all.

Great intro to ultra running for anyone with ambitions to go beyond the 26.2
My first ultra and I loved it - everything that is. I will only add that finding the results is almost impossible despite the website telling us that results are posted as runners cross the finish line. That does not appear to be so. Can you help?
Hi James, the finish tablet dropped it's wifi connection but all results are up there now.

Excellent for my first Ultra
Easy to navigate, great cheer squad at each of the checkpoints with helpful Marshalls. Couldn’t ask for more. Thanks to all those involved.

Great introduction to trail ultra marathon
Fantastically organised, very well signposted and volunteers friendly and supportive
It was my first ultra. Very suitable for a first timmer.
Very well stocked fuelling stations with very friendly marshals.
Would have preferred something substantial at the end, less sweets and biscuits.
A filled roll please.

Super but soggy!
Have run this event a few times now and I still love it despite the mud! A nice and flat ultra marathon which, although flat, offers a variety of terrains along the way to keep it challenging.
Very well organised but a nice, friendly team. The feed stations are well positioned and manned by lovely marshalls.
A truly great mudbath!
The one thing you can't control on raceday is the weather. It rained for the entire event, but let's be honest it just made it even more of an achievement. The marshals were incredible, and a wonderful entry level Ultra. Definitely got me itching for more and I'd recommend this race to everyone. Little bit of sunshine next time though, hey?
A nice flat scenic course for a first ultra
Great food stations, lots of food and drink to choose from even for the slower runners. Friendly encouraging marshalls too.
Would recommend this course for first time ultra runners but would suggest the route was changed to running 2 laps of the field first rather than have to do a lap of honour at the end, especially after that last hill.
Wet & muddy race
The marshals were brilliant and check points plentiful.
We would have liked a ham or cheese roll at finish rather than more sweets and junk for though and maybe a bottle of water as some of the water at stations had a bad taste.
Better than tough mudder
Great route, organisation and volunteers. Very muddy on the day, so come prepared!

Entry level ultra that will have you coming back for more!
I have run this even 5 times, and have loved each one. No navigation required, perfectly spaced aid stations, 99% flat (until the last mile!), a good mix of trails (everything from hard packed paths to sloppy mud (depending on weather!) and a lovely mix of runners. Some will finish this in lightning speed and the front can be very competitive, others will be running their first ultra and just enjoying the day, and there will also be those pushing the generous cut offs. Its a full mix.
Sensible start time, made even better by the clock change usually falling the night before!
Can't recommend this race highly enough, and I'm sure I'll be back for #6!
Great first ultra
Ran this yesterday as my first ultra, was well signposted, regular aid stations with very cheery and enthusiastic volunteers and a range of food and drinks which I liked a lot. Very glad I did it. The route was almost entirely off road, occasionally muddy. Have already recommended to my friends who run who are considering it.

A well organised event with good checkpoints
Always good communication and organisation from Challenge Running. This was my first time running Stort 30 and I was running it on my own - there were times when I felt like the only person out there so I was very grateful for the regular, well stocked and very friendly checkpoints.
